Root canals are indicated when the decay or cavity has reached the nerve. This is diagnosed through a clinical exam, x-rays and patient symptoms.  Symptoms include:

Most root canals take 1 visit to complete. This is when we remove the decay, clean and disinfect the inside of the tooth and seal the canal. In most cases, a crown or cap is then fitted over the tooth to protect from fracture.
